Thank you for taking some time to be interviewed, can you please introduce yourself to our readers and tell us a little bit about what you do?
I’m Scottie Da Ghost, I’m from AZ and I’m an experimental hiphop artist/guitarist
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music for 12 years but I’ve only been recording and doing hiphop for a year.
What inspired you to be a musician?
Probably the first Linkin Park music video I saw and the sound a guitar makes.
Who gets bragging rights for getting you to where you are now?
My fans and friends who have supported me from day one as well as my Producer Estheticgloom, the wonderful sound engineers Erik Vielma, Jacob Miles, And Christian Matthew, and my amazing editor EatTheLight. Oh and my girl for constantly forcing me to go out and meet new folks.
What is your dream tour?
Around The World,New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, Sydney, Tokyo, Hawaii, L.A
Who are your major influences?
Mike Shinoda, Mezz Mezzrow, Wu-Tang
When is your new album [Leviathan] coming out?
I hate putting release dates on my albums but you can expect that album to hit stores mid November or Early December.
When does the music video for [CH:14] drop?
That Video should be out sometime this month to tease for the new album release.
What are your plans for next year?
Definitely plan to drop more visuals and do some shows out of state, possibly a small west coast tour!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
If things can go to plan I see myself doing that Around The World tour and putting on for AZ
What are the pros and cons of your local music scene?
Pros would definitely be the venues,studios and networking that can be accessed as well as strong support from most other local artists. Like we have some REALLY good studios out here and all these artists doing it for AZ! Cons would have to be the pay to play promoters charging for “exposure” and unorganized shows with all local artist n no headliner. It’s just a small scene with a lot of room to grow.
What obstacles did you have to overcome in your journey?
All of them. I couldn’t list them all TBH. I went through the rinse cycle a few times. At one point I was homeless living out my whip selling drugs to get by. The biggest obstacle to get over was my own patience tho, sometimes this is a waiting game and having to wait for the next move can drive you crazy. Also wanting to give up was, and always is a huge obstacle for any recording artist.
What else would you like our readers to know as we wrap this up?
Well I’ve got a couple singles on the way as well as some new visuals. I’ve been working with a lot of upcoming locals trying to build an energy to bring to the stage. Simply just expect a lot more Ghost sightings.
