Thank you for taking some time to be Interviewed for Clout Culture. Can you please introduce yourself and tell use a little bit about what you do in the scene?

Of course happy to do it! I’m Joseph Bills the #maxout man and what I contribute to the scene is my energy and genuine support. I always build up people I believe in and never been afraid to show love. I like this vibe! I’ve been watching.

How long have you been in the game? And who gets bragging rights for helping you get to where you are now?

Been rapping since I was 15 but as far as pursuing music as a career, about 10 years. And bragging rights, I would have to say the fans. Honestly, it’s been them pushing me into different spotlights that led to the connections and relationships I’ve made over the last 3 years. The #maxoutmob are the ones who brought me to the table.

What are some of the pros and cons of your local scene and where do you see room for improvement?

The pros of the local scene here in Phoenix is that there is a vast amount of artists all pushing for their dreams and there are a lot of different lanes as well. There’s no shortage of events you can go to all the way throughout the week. The cons are probably the same in every scene it’s hard to break through the “gate keepers” but if you make your own lane, eventually, [the] dope will always rise to the top. Unless you’re cooking [in] it I think.

When your not performing and traveling what do you do with the rest of your time? Any other passions or professions?

I am a certified audio engineer so I sometimes help some of the homies with their projects. I also do a little bit of voice over work from time to time. But when it comes to passions it’s really just making an impact through my music.

If you could go on tour with anyone in the world, who would be on the bill with you and where would you go?

Mainstream J Cole, Kanye, Lil Wayne, and Jay Z. Heavy bill I know but my style would offset all of theirs perfectly. Anyone I know included, Dela Preme, Truminati, The Free Boys, Futuristic, Sincerely Collins and Fonz. That’d be an #overlituation.

Where would the tour go?

A US tour for sure but I also want to do Asia and Europe for sure. I was trying to go to China this summer [it] didn’t pan out though. Although I did do my first mini tour in South West Colorado, New Mexico, LA, Nevada, which is all going to lead up to me as one of the headliners to the Arizona hip-hop festival.

So, I just discovered you. What albums should I have in my library. And do you have any new material coming out this year?

I have my “Past Due Bills” series on all streaming platforms. That culminates with my latest EP, “The Collection”. Depending on how much time you have to dive in, Vol. 2 is a classic and Collection is my first 50k+ streamed project, it’s full of bangers. I have a ton of new material with some pretty exciting features as well, but no dates in mind. I do release singles out of nowhere from time to time, so look out for those as well.

Let’s do some manifestation work. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? How about 10?

Five years I seeee… earning 6 figures annually from all music and entertainment solely. Also have got Bills Ent., a commonly known brand, my clothing line will be in multiple outlets, and #maxedout will officially eclipse turnt up and lit. Also some “secret” business ambitions will be fully realized I just don’t want to put those in the atmosphere until I can pull the trigger of them. Ten years, I’m glad you asked because I need to practice seeing that far into the future. I will have to answer that one next interview.

Sounds like a plan! I like to keep these things short and sweet for the readers. As we wrap this up, is there anything else you would like our readers to know?

I would like anyone reading to know I stand for what I believe in and [I] am genuine in everything I say, on and off the mic, and if you support what i’m striving for, please visit shopgotbills.com and cop some merch to keep the grind alive. Tag a friend in a video, share a song, tell your friends to follow the journey because we’re just getting started. And most importantly, stay true to YOU. Don’t conform to what you think or have been told is the “right way”. Be yourself. Nobody can do it better than you. God is great #MAXOUT Homeshopgotbills.com
