Right off the bat Antsy proves to us why he’s going to take over the DMV.Â
Sorcery is a album with huge re-playable value, giving us vibes of both nostalgia and familiarity with this project packed with emotions. I don’t know whether I want to cry or dance listening through.
The production value is so high and the mixes are so crisp its no wonder he’s making so much noise in Northern Virginia. Not only mentioning the obvious emo-rap vibes but bars and lyricism are also consistent. Track number three “Numb” for examples starts off with such a smooth vibe that anyone can enjoy it and sing along, then the second half of the song he reminds us with his bars that he is a true DMV rapper, not just a rockstar.
Sorcery also came out with a deluxe version shortly into the Covid-19 crisis. With vibes similar to the standard release the Deluxe version takes a more melodic and emotional route. With all the tracks produced by different producers the four track extra holds diversity while holding consistency, including track “I don’t know what to do” produced by Lil Peep producer, Charlie Shuffler featuring Dev Gajan, Â Another DMV rockstar.
The post-punk samples and 808 trap elements are here to stay.
Needless to say, Sorcery left me under a spell and I loved it! An album I would play in my own time. Don’t sleep on this rising prince.
