The Latest Single “Life Plans” from up and coming Las Vegas hip hop artist young Goat is an honest look into Goat’s past and how he’s setting himself up for future success. Young Goat Starts off the track claiming his Young Goat Gang” followed by the polarizing question “So what do you want from me”? Dropping into the hook which in itself is a look into Goat’s past decisions and vision for his future.
The content of the Verses falls in line with the hook as Young Goat goes back in forth with issues he’s dealt with in the past but has aspirations on finding happiness by his own means. Young Goat places short chunks of bravado laced flex talk before each hook as well.
“ Life Plans“‘ aesthetic fits with the latest sound popular in today’s neo rap/punk era and reminiscent of the late Juice Wrld. While the song has the favored characteristics it’s execution is a bit wonky and bland in comparison to what’s being made now. Content is very surface level and doesn’t bring anything new by way of songwriting to the forefront and there are times where the flows could’ve been tightened up to make for a smoother listen. Along with that the addition of the “pre-chorus” flex talk is redundant after the initial introduction in the song and sounds like it’s just being used to take up dead air.
A decent look into Young Goat’s growing career but now the strongest showing.
